BioForgotten and ignored. Driven into rage by jealousy. Cain Marko, step-brother to one of the world's most infamous mutants, Charles Xavier, had always wanted more out of life, but it seemed as if luck was never on his side. He was overlooked in favor of his brother, who held a superhuman advantage over him and all his accomplishments. Whenever he thought he had gained an advantage over his peers, a step up on the ladder, something always occurred to knock him right back down into place, back to the bottom rung. He grew angry, cursing his poor fortune, and by taking out his frustrations on everyone and everything around him, he was consumed by these bitter feelings. He hated Xavier. He hated everything.
Time carried him into the service, and into war in Korea; chance threw him in the midst of a forgotten and ancient temple, dedicated to the entity known as Cyttorak; but it was fate that allowed him to take hold of a mystic gem therein, containing the power of Cyttorak itself, and recite the incantation inscribed:
"Whosoever touches this gem shall be granted the power of the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak! Henceforth, you who read these words, shall become ... forevermore ... a human juggernaut!"
And there, Cain Marko became powerful. Bigger. Stronger. Unstoppable. Boasting strength beyond mortal imagination and power to rival acts of God. From that moment on, The Juggernaut would seek after the things he had been denied previously, but rather than be granted them, he would simply take them, and obliterate anything and anyone that foolishly stood in his pathway.
